Multiuser

The Manufacturing Processes Laboratory has multi-user management that aims to serve the internal and external public of USP in the area of mechanical manufacturing and metrology, in order to achieve the maximum quality of services performed, meet deadlines, preserve the laboratory infrastructure and physical integrity of the user, through occupational safety requirements required by the Internal Accident Prevention Commission (CIPA) and the Engineering, Safety and Occupational Medicine Service (SESMT) of USP-São Carlos.

Reservations of equipment by USP's internal public can be made by accessing the Term of Responsibility. External demands are sent directly to LPF Coordinator, Prof. Assoc. Alessandro Roger Rodrigues, e-mail roger@sc.usp.br, to provide pre-quotes and schedule availability of equipment and technicians. Information regarding the requested services must be provided, such as equipment intended for use, quantity of parts, estimated manufacturing time or metrological characterization, among others. Any types of scientific production, such as articles published in journals and conferences, dissertations and theses, among others, must include thanks to the LPF.

Users must be properly registered in the LPF to use the facilities.

Information regarding required services such as needed equipments, specimens amount, estimated fabrication time, and inputs supply must be provided.

Equipment is reserved according to the laboratory schedule.

According to the Responsability Term, users are responsable for evantual damages when using the equipment by carrying out properly the repair or replacing the demaged component.

Parts can only be manufactured following strictly technical documents relating to mechanical manufacturing, such as technical drawings previously prepared in accordance with standards, with indications of dimensions, quantities, materials, etc., as well as dimensional tolerances, geometric tolerances and surface finishing, when applicable.

It is expressly mandatory to use personal protective equipment in the laboratory according to the requirements established by the Internal Accident Prevention Commission (CIPA), regulated by the Engineering, Safety and Occupational Medicine Service, São Carlos School of Engineering, University of São Paulo (SESMT/EESC/USP).
